Rules
Respect other players. We want Sauria RPG to be a friendly and welcoming community!
Providing your e-mail address anywhere on the game (including the email field between the name and subject when posting a message) is optional and done at your own risk. Sauria RPG isn't responsible for any abuse/misuse of e-mail addresses.
Keep the language and behavior PG-13 and below (about 1-1-2 on the RPG rating scale). Basically, think of what you would normally see in an educational dinosaur documentary, and try not to be any more graphic than that. In other words, violence and blood (e.g. in hunts, battles, etc.) are for sure allowed; just don’t be too excessive with them. Likewise, characters can perform mating dances, calls, etc. but please go straight to the egg-laying part after successfully finding a mate. ;) (In all seriousness, Boards2Go's Terms of Service prohibit adult content. Please abide by them.)
No godmodding (being invincible/refusing to take damage, having unrealistic abilities/powers) or powerplaying (controlling other players’ characters without their permission). Avoid metagaming (applying OOC knowledge that your characters wouldn’t otherwise know), although this rule can sometimes be bent reasonably, such as with Shaman characters (see the Shamans page for more information) or if something is common knowledge.
Do not Auto-Hit in fights (unless you have the other player's permission/if it's for a plot). Auto-Hit is, of course, when your attacks hit automatically and go exactly where you want them to, e.g. “He slashed his opponent’s leg open with his claws.” An acceptable version of this would be, “He lunged, aiming to slash his opponent’s leg open.” But also remember that just because one player’s attack is subject to the other player’s interpretation does not mean that the defending character can successfully avoid every move. Keep the attacks, damage, and dodging realistic!
If your character dies, you can play it as a spirit, but only Shamans and other spirits will be able to see and talk to your character. Non-Shaman living creatures cannot directly interact with your spirit character in any way; however, your character can act as a sort of wind to cause paranormal activity (rustling leaves, rippling water, even moving small stones with enough practice). How a spirit uses this limited ability to affect the physical world is up to him/her--for good, bad, as a silly prank, etc. Additionally, a spirit can be reincarnated (see the Shamans page), but be warned that reincarnation is an irreversible decision that involves losing most of one’s memories from his/her past life.
See the Mates/Breeding/Offspring and Herds/Packs pages for other rules about the game.
